You’ve got shiny new premises. but are your payroll staff still struggling?
Lyons Watson Accountants, a Darlington accountancy firm, has moved to larger premises as part of its preparation to take on more new staff.
The move is to a larger office within the same business centre, Business Central.
The firm was established in 2016. It provides financial management and business support services to small and medium sized companies throughout County Durham and Tees Valley.
Founder and owner Nick Lyons said: "The new office is a big step forward for us, it gives us the room we need to welcome a new member of staff and we’re excited to bring clients to our new office.
"We like to meet with our clients regularly to build close relationships. This enables us to provide a very personal service and advice that is specific to each client’s needs, so it’s great to be able to have the extra space in the office to host these meetings."
Vanessa Wood, Business Central’s centre manager, added: “Nick is a popular member of our vibrant business community and I’m delighted that Lyons Watson have decided to stay and grow with us."

Moving into a new building is the perfect time to assess your current payroll system, specifically the way that you record employee attendance and their hours worked.
Many companies, even in today’s high-tech world, still use weekly paper timesheets to record employee working hours. These waste employees’ time in filling them in, and waste the time of payroll staff who need to manually process them into a format suitable for payroll software.
However, the best solution is to centralise and automate the whole process. Our clocking stations, combined with our full-featured flagship time and attendance software, can do just this.
Employees no longer have to spend time and energy filling in the forms, because all they need to do is just clock in or out using their smartcards or fingerprints. Their timings are sent straight to the central software.
Payroll staff no longer need to squint at bad handwriting and hope that this number is a 7, not a 1, because the clocking data can be exported straight from the WinTA.NET software in a format suitable for all the leading payroll programs.
