Plans unveiled for new retirement village in Washington

Property developer Galliford Try has submitted a planning proposal to Sunderland City Council for building a new retirement village with 79 flats in Washington for social landlord Riverside Group.

The location earmarked for the new development is the former London Inn club site on Spout Lane and the proposal incorporates a mix of one- and two-bedroom extra care apartments, as well as a variety of onsite social facilities for use by the community.

Stephen McCoy, managing director with Galliford Try Partnerships North, said: "We are delighted to be working with Riverside for the first time on an exciting project which will improve the quality and choice of living styles for older people in the area.

"We have significant experience of developing these facilities which provide people with modern, sustainable homes with built-in flexibility to meet their needs as they grow older."

Development projects of this type typically involve a large number of contractors and sub-contractors, and this is specifically the reason why any construction company that will take on the task of carrying out the works should either have in place or implement a solid and reliable time and attendance and access control solution. This is exactly where Time & Attendance North East can put its experience to very good use.

We supply an affordable, yet highly reliable, multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security systems including European Working Time Directive checking and reporting.
