Owen Pugh to invest £100k in testing laboratory, create more jobs in the process

Civil engineering business the Owen Pugh Group has decided to take a step further in its development and invested £100,000 in its Marsden Quarry materials testing laboratory, creating 5 new jobs in the process, a media news report on this topic has recently revealed.

The laboratory will be relocated into 1,000 sq ft of space on the site and will include new equipment, which will actually help the company save money, as they won’t have to subcontract for testing work any longer.

The group will take on two more staff on its lab team, along with a further three employees expected to start by the end of 2014.

Richard Brady, Owen Pugh lab manager, said: "The expansion of our lab facilities to accommodate the extra need for materials testing within the GDC and construction divisions was a natural next step for the business.

"Although we are a fledgling operation in the Owen Pugh Group, we expect the investment to reap rewards in the next year with future developments already being planned."
