New jobs created at Bedlington convenience store

23 new jobs have been created after a Co-operative Food store opened in Bedlington, Northumberland, a news report in the local media has revealed.

The store, based at the site of the former Ridge Farm Pub on Netherton Lane, is part of the company’s plan to open a total of 100 stores across the UK.

Senior surveyor Tim Aisbitt works for commercial agent and chartered surveying firm Bradley Hall, who identified the site and acted on behalf of Co-op to acquire the premises. He said : "This new investment and development reflects Co-op’s commitment to growth and confidence in the region.

"It’s great to see sites such as this being revitalised by a new operator. Co-op is not only breathing life into redundant buildings but is also helping improve the local community and environment, whilst also creating new jobs.”
