Multiple jobs lost as Newcastle-based engineering company goes into administration
An engineering company specializing in rebuilding bus engines has entered administration and has ceased trading, resulting in the loss of 18 jobs, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.
Smiles Engineering (North East) Ltd was founded more than 35 years ago and specialised in rebuilding engines for bus and commercial fleet owners which saved fuel, improved reliability and extended the service life of the vehicle.
Steven Philip Ross and Ian William Kings of Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery were appointed as administrators on 26 June 2015.
