Hiring prospects across North East continue to grow
Hiring prospects continue to grow throughout the North East, recent research from the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey has revealed.
The study recorded its fourth consecutive quarter of positivity in the North East, with data showing that employment outlook in stands at +6 per cent.
Amanda White, operations manager at Manpower, said: "The sustained positive outlook in the region over the last year is having a noticeable effect on the availability of work, and what’s more, we’re now beginning to see signs of upward movement in pay, albeit relatively small at this stage."
"This is most evident in the engineering sector, where there is a distinct shortage of the right skills.
"The supply of engineering talent looks like it will be constrained for the foreseeable future, which means more bargaining power on pay for employees with the right skills, especially in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, Darlington and Sunderland, where there is greatest demand."
