Double Eleven takes on 200th employee
Games developer and publisher Double Eleven has doubled the size of its team after welcoming its 200th employee.
The company, which started life in a loft 12 years ago, has remotely recruited 103 new crew members to its Teesside headquarters and grown its Kuala Lumpur studio to 20 in the last 12 months.
Founder and chief executive Lee Hutchinson said: “Our recent growth has been phenomenal; it’s a reflection of the increasing scale and complexity of the type of projects we work on.
“We’ve built new teams and created new roles within the organisation to support our online services and infrastructure needs, people development and, most importantly, wellbeing.
“We are quite comfortable recruiting outside the game industry to find individuals we believe have the right capabilities and experience to help us grow and advance different business areas.”
TIME AND ATTENDANCE NORTHEAST – Your workforce management system
A significant increase in staff numbers can cause unforeseen problems for staff performing HR, admin and accounts job roles if the company’s method of recording time worked has not been updated.
For example, it is very easy for staff to fill in paper timesheets incorrectly. Sometimes this can be deliberate time fraud, but sometimes it is just new staff getting confused, or people forgetting to fill in their timesheets until a week later, by which time they’ve forgotten their exact shift details.
Even if the details are all correct, most paper timesheets must then be manually transferred to a database (usually an Excel spreadsheet) before being sent to payroll software. Our aim at Time and Attendance North East is to save your company time and effort and to improve the efficiency and productivity of your company.
Using paper sheets to clock in and out means that staff can write whatever time they wish on the piece of paper. By using one of our workforce management systems, this eradicates any dishonesty from employees as the time they clock in and out is recorded electronically.
At Time and Attendance North East, we offer specialised attendance management software which can work either with smartcards or with biometrics.
Our smartcards are about the size of a credit card and fit nicely into most wallets. The Radio Frequency technology means that you don’t need to physically swipe the cards, just hold them up near the reader terminal. This reduces wear and tear and also minimises social contact. We also sell Long-Range smartcards, which can be read from several metres away.
