The original proposal was for a 2,787 sq ft office scheme, but with size restrictions since lifted, the new proposal is for a 4,628 sq ft building with a full-height curved glass frontage and meeting rooms offering views over the Tyne Bridge and River Tyne.

 

The application has been recommended for approval by planning officers, and will now go before Gateshead Council’s planning and development committee on 19 September 2018.

 

Adderstone Group is now seeking a tenant or purchaser for the development.

 

The company’s development surveyor, Danielle Wilson, said: "This has the potential to be one of the most prominent office locations in the North East.

"Bottle Bank would be one of our first speculative office developments for a few years but we are confident there is demand for quality, grade A space from occupiers."
