Newcastle digital creative studio expands to Edinburgh
Newcastle-based creative web agency Beatnik Studios is opening an office in Scotland, in the New Town area of Edinburgh.
The company has had significant growth in the last year and acquired several new clients, such as 3D surveying, drone and photogrametry company The 360 Group, TV chef Matei Baran and human resources specialist DUO Global Consulting.
Beatnik is based in Clavering Place, Newcastle, and was founded in 2016. It offers branding, web design, print design, and graphic design services.
Its new Scottish based can be found at Hudson House, 8 Albany Street in Edinburgh.
Founder and creative director David Haigh said:
“Launching our Edinburgh office is the next step in the organic evolution, allowing us to attract clients in the heart of this creative hub.
“I’m excited to expand our talented team in a thriving city alongside businesses who are having global impact.
“Our clients span the UK and it makes sense to expand our physical and visible presence into Scotland. Edinburgh is a vibrant city with a strong business community.
“The new base will allow Beatnik to continue to deliver exceptional work for our clients when it comes to branding, online (Shopify and WordPress) and offline sales and marketing channels.
“We pride ourselves on delivering exceptionally high level of service and we aim to become long-term partners with our clients, not just a one-off service provider in the city.”

Expanding into a new office is a sign that a company is progressing well and is confident about the future. Here at Time and Attendance North East, we wish Beatnik Studios the best of luck in the future.
However, with more than 25 years in the time and attendance industry, we are also very aware that company growth can often outpace the backroom tasks and leave administration staff swamped and struggling. For example, an influx of new staff can cause problems for HR and payroll staff if there isn’t a robust time and attendance monitoring system in place.
If a company, such as Beatnik, can’t alter the wiring in their new office to accommodate our physical time and attendance clocking terminals, then we have a great alternative in the form of our browser-based and/or app-based Self Service Module. This enables all employees to clock in and out with a click of their mouse! Employees using the phone app can even be tracked using GPS when they clock in, which is ideal for checking up on carers, salesperson, tradespeople or other on-the-road roles.
Many office-based companies don’t see the need for that sort of a system, but they don’t understand its full usefulness. It is not only useful for producing accurate hourly wages; it provides HR and payroll staff with a swathe of detailed and easy-to-access data about attendance. This can be exported for use in payroll software, or HR staff can use the reporting functions within our software to compose reports for appraisals, disciplinaries and more.
