Workforce management systems help streamline the recruitment process
Time and attendance and workforce management systems can help streamline the recruitment process for companies deciding to take on more employees, such as the high-level maintenance and restoration company Stone Technical Services (STS).
Matt Wright has joined the Darlington company as a trainee building survey specialist having gained a degree in building surveying at Northumbria University. He will be working on a variety of projects such as Colchester Roman Boundary Walls and the Royal Courts Of Justice.
Elsewhere, Thomas Dixon and Curtis Mullholland have joined STS as apprentice steeplejacks and have been assigned to the Ineos and Forth Road Bridge schemes.
The past year has been the company’s most successful to date, having enjoyed 20 per cent year-on-year growth. Its turnover has increased from about £2m to more £3m and staff numbers are now approaching 50.
Dave Stone, managing director of STS, said: "We’re passionate about creating opportunities for local people and we always recruit from the North East. Training the next generation to be able to work in restoration and maintenance is vital as buildings and structures will always need repairing.
"The three new recruits are really enthusiastic about their trade and it’s a really exciting time for them to be joining the business."
