Newcastle bar set to go on hiring spree

A city centre bar in Newcastle has gone on a hiring spree to cope with demand following the launch of a new extension, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

The Barluga bar on Grey Street has recently opened a new outside terrace area which has proved so popular that the bar had to start looking for additional staff members.

Built as part of leisure company Vaulkhard Group’s £4m development projects across a number of its venues, the 80 sq ft terrace extension has provided Barluga with an additional dining and drinking area, with capacity to seat 75 customers compared to 16 before its creation.

Ollie Vaulkhard, a director at Vaulkhard Group, said: "We have been delighted with the support we have received from the public and since opening, we have welcomed hundreds of guests old and new.

"The uptake in demand and footfall has meant that we can focus on providing more jobs in the region, which is fantastic so soon after our investment.

"In just 16 weeks we were able to complete a well needed outside space in time for summer.”
