New residential development scheme in Newcastle receives planning permission

A new residential development scheme from developer Bellway Homes set to be built in Newcastle has been granted planning permission, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.

The 71-home scheme is set to be built on a 279,800 sq ft site at Dinnington and comprises terraced, semi-detached and detached properties ranging from two to four bedrooms in size. A report to planners at Newcastle City Council said the proposals would represent "significant investment" into the area with the developer estimating the creation of 23 full-time jobs during the three-year construction period.

The same report said the scheme would proactively support economic development through the delivery of new homes, achieve a high standard of design and amenity, support the transition to a low carbon future through sustainable development and provide contributions to enhance local facilities.

"As development progresses to completion, the proposal would contribute to the local economy by providing increased spending power through the introduction of new residents to the village," it added.
