Co-op Group opens new store in Northumberland, creates 15 jobs

One of the UK’s best-known major retail groups has opened a new convenience store in Northumberland and created 15 new local jobs as part of its expansion programme in the North East, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to find.

The Co-op Group has opened the store on the site of the former Pegswood Ex Sports and Social Club on Main Street.

The Co-op Group revealed last year that it was actively looking to acquire new sites across the region with plans to open a total of 100 new stores in UK to strengthen its position as a convenience food retailer.
