Jobs created as North East logistics business completes investment drive

A Newton Aycliffe-based logistics business has created jobs after investing heavily in overhauling its distribution system, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Stiller Warehousing and Distribution has relocated its pallet distribution operation to within its main site on Aycliffe Business Park. It has also taken on four new forklift drivers and three office employees as part of a restructuring which has allowed it to cope with an increase in demand.

Stiller is also a major shareholder in Palletline, a national co-operative network of 70 companies. Its overnight Palletline operation involves handling more than 1,600 pallets every day, carrying goods ranging from food stuffs and packing to cookware and building cladding.

The Palletline work had previously been run from an external site about a mile away from Stiller’s main operation but after the family-run company moved its pallet storage facility into its new 40,000 sq ft warehouse in September, it has created room to relocate its Palletline operation.
