New jobs created as part of office building refurbishment

Several new jobs were created as work started on the refurbishment of the former Talipot House office building in Team Valley, local business media has been able to find.

Construction company Sendrig was selected as the main contractor and will have a total of 40 staff working on the development over the course of the project, ten of which have been newly recruited.

The scheme will create 17,000 sq ft of grade A office space within the building’s original shell.

Jason Carr, director at Naylors, a building consultancy that are project managing the refurbishment on behalf of the landlord, said office refurbishments of this scale are "rare in today’s market".

"We are literally taking the building back to its four walls and completely redeveloping it to create high-quality office accommodation," he added.

"We believe the offer of grade A office space with the benefit of extensive grounds and parking will be a great attraction to potential occupiers. The refurbishment is now well underway and we anticipate completion in July."

Development projects of this type typically involve a large number of contractors and sub-contractors, and this is specifically the reason why any construction company that will take on the task of carrying out the works should either have in place or implement a solid and reliable time and attendance and access control solution. This is exactly where Time & Attendance North East can put its experience to very good use.
