Pharmaceutical company to create 80 new jobs

A pharmaceutical company is set to create up to 80 new jobs after securing the necessary funding to expand their operations, a news report in the local business media was able to reveal.

Northumberland-based DE Pharmaceuticals is set to expand its sites in the North East and Doncaster, as well as adding new sites in Manchester, Barnsley, the South East, Belfast and the Midlands.

The pharmaceutical wholesaler supplies to more than 4,500 pharmacies across the UK and Ireland and is one of the UK’s largest distributors of generic medicines.

The company is investing heavily in its Prudhoe site, expanding and refurbishing its headquarters where it employs 75 staff.

Directors Mark Gulliford commented on the announcement, saying that: "Our expansion comes after another strong period for the company, and on the back of such national demand for our services comes the need to add significant extra resource to our operation, both in terms of people and floor space."
