New jobs to be created as part of new development in Stockton-on-Tees

Multiple jobs will be created as part of a new development planned for the village of Kirklevington, just outside Yarm, the project’s backers have recently revealed.

Developers Jomast have revealed that key aspects of the existing village, including the grade-II listed Church of St Martin, would be protected, while a new village centre would be created, providing a "much needed" facility for the school, church and other community.

Adam Hearld, Jomast development director, said: ""Our overarching vision is to deliver a range of high quality homes and community facilities that contribute positively to the village.

"Our residential provision would create a heavily landscaped setting and homes which could accommodate first time buyers, families and the elderly. This, along with much improved community facilities such as a dedicated village green, new public spaces and recreational provision, would bring significant benefits to Kirklevington and the wider community."

The outline plans include housing, a new village centre, landscaped green, public square and "significantly improved community facilities" which could include tennis courts, a cricket pitch, children’s play area, walks and local transport connections.
