A pharmaceutical products’ manufacturer based in Middleton, Teesdale, has revealed plans to increase its UK production capacity by 25 percent and also create a number of new jobs in the process, after securing a funding package from Barclays.

 

Classic Industries Europe Ltd designs and makes medical injection molded products. The company revealed plans to use the newly available funding for increasing actual production capacity and freeing up an additional 4,000 sq ft for storage. Currently, the company employs 50 members of staff in the North East and 500 employees worldwide.

 

John Pearson, chief operating officer of Classic Industries, said: "We’ve outgrown our current premises and so we’re expanding the size of our UK operations and anticipate a 25 per cent increase in turnover over the next two years.”
