Work starts on £350m Gateshead regeneration programme
Starting construction work on the first phase of a 193-home scheme in Birtley has marked the official beginning of a very ambitious £350m Gateshead regeneration programme, a news report in the local media has just revealed.
The Gateshead Regeneration Partnership (GRP) has started work on the site off Mount Pleasant Road having secured planning permission for the first 47 homes. The development is part of the wider plan to build 2,400 new homes across Gateshead over the next 20 years.
Catherine Donovan, Gateshead Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: "This is the start of an ambitious and unique venture that will provide high quality homes in communities right across Gateshead.
"The demand for homes has probably never been higher, which makes this project all the more important."
Any company or group of companies wishing to get involved in projects of this magnitude should also consider the implementation of a very solid and reliable workforce management system, and that’s specifically where Time & Attendance North East might be able to lend a helping hand.
Our systems are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. They also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
